I've had it with the wait times at my doctor and dentist! They are both a bit out of my way now too. So I'm looking for better doctors, preferably a short drive (< 20 minutes) from Long Valley.
I'm single and in good health, so I don't really need anything more than a general practicioner (no pediatricians necessary).
- Reasonable wait times are very important.
- I strongly desire doctors who keep electronic records and can email me (or copy to my USB thumb drive) copies of my records upon request.
- Of course I would like a compentent doctor/dentist. E.g. one that has good diagnostic skills, one that doesn't require to see me every 3 months just to get my prescription for Lovaza (fish oil), and one that has the forethought to give me a prescription for my blood work BEFORE my office visit.
- For the dentist, I appreciate hygenists who are more gentle than torturous. :)
The online doctor search tools help a little but nothing beats good word of mouth.

Dr. Nils Bryant, dentist office is in Flanders on Rt 206 a little ways north past the Flanders mini golf. Dr. Bryant resides in LV. He followed his fathers footsteps and took over several years ago. I was a client of his fathers since I was probably 4 years old. Up to date computerized xrays, my 3 girls have been going to him since they were 4 years old and the hygenists are very caring and gentle. Wait times are very short and just recently adult clients have been offered a choice of cleaning paste flavors--not just mint anymore!!
As for a doctor, I have heard good things about Dr. Ingrassia in Hackettstown Hasting Square shopping area. I have only met her assistant so far and she was very nice. Hope this info helps.

I recommend the doctors at Plaza Family Care, with Offices in Hackettstown and Chester. The doctors take me seriously, and everyone on the staff is courteous, knowledgable and helpful.

I highly recommend the dentists & hygenists at Dr. Goodkin & Assoc. in Long Valley. Having terrible teeth, I've had a lot of experience with dentists/hygenists. The people over at Dr. Goodkin's are by far the most caring and gentle I've ever known. http://www.howardgoodkindmd.com/
For a GP, I use Dr. Lillian Theune of Plaza Family Care. I never have a long wait when I go to see her, and she is very easy to talk to. (I want to add here though, that if you ever have need to see one of the pediatricians at Plaza, you will usually have a long wait. ) http://www.pfcmd.com/physicians.php
I'm sorry, I don't know if either of these doctors keep electronic records. They both always seem to be current with new technology though.

Thanks for the replies! I am following up on your recommendations. Unfortunately Goodkin and Bryant are not part of my dental insurance network. I can still use them, but it would require more paperwork and a little extra copay every now and then. I'm going into the Plaza Family Care soon to check them out. According to their office staff, they recently starting using electronic records. I like what I've read about their wellness program as well.
