The awards ceremony for the 2012 Long Valley Junior Women’s Club Summer Read-a-Thon at Benedict A. Cucinella School was held on Thursday, October 18^th.  The Read-a-Thon promotes reading while earning money for the purchase of new children’s books for the Washington Township School Libraries and the Washington Township Public Library.  The LVJWC offers this program each year to all WT Schools to help enhance the literacy of our children, to encourage independent reading and to contribute funds to the libraries.  Shown in the photo are the gold, silver and bronze medal winners awarded in each grade for the most pages read.  This year, B.A. Cucinella students combined read over 140,000 pages.
