4-Year-Old Pulled From Pool, Airlifted
Boy was alert when police arrived at a Washington Township home on Thursday.
A 4-year-old boy was removed from a swimming pool at a private residence on Windswept Way on Thursday before being airlifted to Morristown Medical Center for further evaluation, police said.
According to the Washington Township Police Department, police responded to the home at 12:51 p.m. after receiving a call from the home. Those responding located the boy, who had already been removed from the pool and was being treated by a female adult, police said.
Police said the boy was alert and conscious upon their arrival, and that Patrol Officer John Wurtemberg continued to provide medical treatment to him until the arrival of the Long Valley First Aid Squad, along with medics from St. Clare’s Hospital.
The boy was transported by the Long Valley First Aid Squad to Schooley's Mountain Park, where a landing zone was established, police said. The Juvenile was later airlifted by Air 1 Helicopter to Morristown Medical Center or further evaluation, police said.
Sgt. Timothy Madden, Wurtemberg and Patrol Officer John Lee responded to the home.
