Boards, Mayors, Party Votes on Tap This Week
What's your favorite dish for the Super Bowl?
The first month of the year is about to end, and we’ll be ushering the last full month of winter (sounds great, doesn’t it?!?!). There’s plenty going on this week you should be aware of, so let’s take a look.
You Need a Regional Board Meeting: The West Morris Regional Board of Education will meet Monday, Jan. 28 at West Morris Central High School at 7 p.m. At the last board meeting, four members were sworn into their seats for 2013, and the president and vice president were chosen. The board also approved a policy that would allow students to bring their own wireless technology devices to school.
You Need a (Redirected) Mayors Meeting: After months of meetings to discuss a feasibility study that could restructure schools in Washington Township, the Mendhams and Chesters, mayors of those towns have dropped the idea. They’ll continue to meet, though, and discuss things like shared services and the ineptitude of Jersey Central Power & Light. The next meeting will be held at Chester Borough town hall on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.
You Need to Vote for a Party: The Washington Township Recreation Committee is looking for resident input on the best way to celebrate the town’s 275th birthday at some point this summer. We’ve got a poll and a comment section you can be heard in by clicking here.
You Need to Watch a Game: It’s just the biggest game of the year–the Super Bowl! On Sunday, Feb. 3, the San Fancisco 49ers will take on the Baltimore Ravens for the 47th Lombardi Trophy. But besides the game, there’s plenty of great food to be had. So we want to know what your favorite recipes are for the big day. Go here to tell us about it.
You Need to Get Social With Us: We’ve said it before and we’ll say it always–Long Valley Patch is more than just a hyper-local news site. We’re on Facebook and Twitter, and would love for you to be there with us. To like us on Facebook, go here. To follow us on Twitter, go here.
