The first Community Emergence Response Team (CERT) had its final drill Saturday morning at Rock Spring Park and the Senior Center. The drill was monitored by local EMS volunteers and provided an opportunity for the CERT members to locate, evaluate and triage the wounded.

The exercise included a number of local Boy Scouts who were disguised as victims with burns, lacerations, and in severe cases, dead bodies. The scouts were from Troops 36, 336 and 436. Many of the boys were working toward earning emergency preparedness merit badges.
