Fireworks Festival, Tromp Stomp Hit LV This Week
Special board of education meeting Tuesday afternoon.
The coming week is full of things you need to know, with Long Valley’s biggest annual event coming up on Saturday. Let’s take a look at what’s going on.
You Need a Festival: The 3rd annual Kevin M. Walsh Fireworks Festival is set for Saturday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. behind the Long Valley Middle School. Last year’s event was Hurricane’d out by Irene, and weather pending, this one will see thousands of spectators. Go here for more details.
You Need to Tromp: The 3rd Annual Columbia Trail Tromp–a Memorial for Bill Harrington, Sr.–will hit the trail on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 7 a.m. The fundraisers will benefit pancreatic cancer research and awareness. Participants will run, walk and bike down the Columbia Trail. Find out more by going here.
You Need a Special Meeting: The Washington Township Board of Education will hold a special meeting Tuesday afternoon to discuss personnel matters. The session will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the board building–51 West Mill Road–and action is anticipated to be taken. The public is welcomed to attend. Find out more here.
You Need Some Bike and Brew: As they’ve been doing on Thursdays throughout the summer, Living Adventure Tours is hosting a weekly Bike & Brew to Historic Brewery at 6:15 p.m. Thursday. The event kicks off at the Long Valley Pub & Brewery, rides along the Columbia Trail, then heads back for beer and socializing. Find out more about the event by going here.
You Need Goals: The West Morris Regional Board of Education will hold its regular meeting Monday night at Mendham High School at 7 p.m. On the agenda is a presentation by Superintendent Mackey Pendergrast explaining the district’s goals for 2012-13. The meeting is open to the public and all are welcomed to attend.
