Garden Club Therapy Committee Works With Seniors
Members engage in Pressed Flower Workshop.
In November, members of the Garden Club of Long Valley's Garden Therapy Committee held a 'Pressed Flowers Workshop' at DayBreak Social Adult Day Care Center.
Members of the Garden Club dried flowers from their gardens over the summer and donated them for the workshop.
The power of working with plants and flowers has found to be therapeutic. Working with plants also provides socialization and companionship because at least two people are engaged in the activity. The Garden Club of Long Valley has had a long-standing commitment to the senior groups in the area that will continue with activities throughout the year. Upcoming events include providing arrangements for the Senior Citizen Luncheon in Long Valley.
