Halloween Still Saturday, But Hours Changed

Trick-or-treating scheduled for earlier in the day.

Washington Township has announced that trick-or-treating hours, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10 from 4 to 9 p.m., will now be moved.

The day remains the same, but designated hours have been changed from 1 to 5 p.m., according to an update from the township as of 2 p.m. Thursday.

Trick-or-treating hours in the township were moved three times since Hurricane Sandy took out trees and power lines in the area on Oct. 29, leaving thousands without power.

Take them for a bike ride on the Columbia Trail.

Would love to know if there are specific neighborhoods that will be participating since I assume most have given up...

since not everyone reads this, i bet most people will expect it to be later, and will be out doing the errands they can't do during the week. it's just not halloween if it's not dark out.

I hope it is broadcast on the Honeywell system - as soon as possible.

Thank you Washington Township for getting Halloween figured out. Now since that important matter has been resolved any answers as to when we might get some electricity turned on??

Mine is pretty much gone and I'm not replenishing. Halloween is OVER!

There is a big logistical problem with this solution. If halloween is at night, you can tell who is participating based on whether their lights are on. In the day time, it will be much harder to tell whose lights are on, and therefore whether or not they are participating. There are likely to be a lot of wasted trips to the front doors of non-participating houses. Maybe someone can suggest some sort of signal that families should use to indicate their participation? For example, a pumpkin with a lit candle at the end of the driveway, etc.?

Considering this is the last weekend of rec soccer, I suspect a lot of trick or treaters will be dresses as soccer players.

Wow, way to take all the fun out of Halloween. 1-5? Not even going to be dark out. Also, people who work during the week tend to be out doing things..this is really inconvenient. Just cancel it already.

I'm not opening my door. This is RETARDED and I use that word in the most politically correct way possible.

Power will most likely still be out in our neighborhood . This is not a good idea.
