Historical Society Offering $500 Scholarship
College-bound high school seniors can apply for funds.
The Washington Township Historical Society has announced it will offer its annual $500 scholarship to a deserving West Morris Central senior.
A scholarship will be awarded to a student planning to pursue a history-related major at a two- or four-year college or university in the fall of 2013.
The student will have demonstrated an interest in history on the local or regional level or has done a project directly benefitting the Washignton Township Historical Society.
Applicants must include a 400 to 500 word essay showing interest in history while in high school. Format and quality of the essay will be taken into consideration.
Applications are available at West Morris Central’s guidance department. Students who don’t attend the school can request an application from the Historical Society by calling 908-876-9696.
Deadline for students outside the high school is April 19.
