Holiday, Swingadelics on Tap in LV This Week

Mid-week closures capped off by swinging concert at week's end.

The first full workweek of July will include a quick breather mid-week, as we celebrate Independence Day on Wednesday. There’s plenty to be aware of around town over the next few days, so let’s take a look.

You Need to Know About Closures: The Washington Township Municipal Building, Recycling Center, and library will all be closed on Wednesday due to the July 4 holiday. All will resume normal schedules on Thursday, June 5.

You Need Some Story Time: Head down to Ort Farms on Wednesday for “Story Time Down on the Farm” with a 10 and 11 a.m. offering. Price is $4 per child and includes a narrated story, craft or activity, and snack. Go here for more information.

You Need Some Swinging: Centenary College will host Swingadelic, a New York City area band performing music by Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Frank Sinatra. Tickets are $25 or $30 for the Saturday show, which goes from 8 to 10 p.m. Find out more by going here.

You Need To Nominate Your Favorite: This is the final week to nominate your favorite (insert category here) in Long Valley Patch’s Readers’ Choice competition! We’ve got 25 categories to choose from, spanning everything from best frozen treat to best landscaper. Go here to find out more (and nominate).
