How Should Twp. Celebrate 275th Birthday?

Patch wants resident input on milestone event.

Milestone birthdays include Sweet 16, Of-Age-18, Bar-Eligible-21, and just about every 30, 40, 50 and so on one can enjoy.

Not many–no one, actually–gets to say they've hit the big 2-7-5.

But in 2013, everyone in Washington Township will be able to say they're part of that milestone figure, as the municipality celebrates its 275th birthday.

On Sept. 12 at 6 p.m., Washington Township Mayor Ken Short will hold a meeting with the Historic Society and other groups in town to come up with ideas for how to best celebrate the year-long mark.

So, Long Valley Patch wants to know what you think should be done to celebrate the milestone?

How about giving $275 to every taxpayer in the township, which they can use to celebrate the anniversary in whatever way they prefer?
