Hunting Club Bids Expected to be Approved
Township Committee's monthly work session will cover new fire department rating as well.
The Washington Township Committee is scheduled to meet for its monthly work session Wednesday night at the municipal building, and will be discussing a few hot topics, according to the event’s agenda.
Two resolutions are likely to be passed when the governing body awards bids to clubs who will use two separate parcels of land for hunting purposes.
Those parcels are on Reservoir Road and Spring Lane near Marjorie Drive, according to the agenda. These same parcels were approved for hunting in October 2010 after a contentious public hearing where residents were clearly divided on the issue.
This will be the second consecutive hunting season those areas are used by hunting clubs.
Also on the agenda for discussion is the rating given by Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO), which spent two months analyzing Washington Township and its fire companies to see what could be improved and what was working well.
Company policy was to share the information and rating with the mayor and fire chiefs only, ISO representative Robert Cobb said during a presentation in September.
At that point, it would be up to the officials to share that information with whomever they wanted.
The item is listed in the discussion portion of the agenda for Wednesday. The meeting is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
Meeting time is 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building.
