Hi, my name is Trent, short for Trenton. My family rescued me from a crack house in Trenton that is how I got my name. I like living in Long Valley now with my family and friends Luke and Presley. Credit Hope

Everyone knows their dog is the top dog.

Now, Long Valley Patch is giving you the chance to prove it.

Over the next month, in partnership with Morris Animal Inn, Patch is launching its Top Dog contest.

Enter our contest to give your pooch the chance to compete and then browse the contest to see other pups from your Patch!

The winners from 10 participating area Patches will then go on to the final round, where the winner will be awarded a $250 gift card for a weekend stay at the Morris Animal Inn for your dog!

Here’s how it works:

Beginning Nov. 26, upload your favorite photo of your dog to this article (it’s super easy—just make sure you are a registered user first. In the caption, tell us your dog’s name and what makes him or her so special. One photo per owner please.

The submission deadline is Sunday, Dec. 9 at 11:59 p.m.

Between Monday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 16 at 11:59 p.m., our users will vote in the comments on what dog is Long Valley's Top Dog.

From there, Long Valley's Top Dog will vie with the other nine local winners for the grand prize. The grand prize winner will be announced Friday, Dec. 21 at noon.

So make sure you hit that social media campaign trail early!

To vote: Look for the number in the top right corner of the photo and refer to that in the comments.

Morris Animal Inn has been a part of the Morristown community for over 50 years, offering lodging, daycare and more for your dogs and cats.

Rules

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.

To enter, upload your favorite photo of your dog to the contest article beginning Nov. 26.

All entries must be received by Sunday, Dec. 9 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

You may enter one photo per owner.

One winner will be selected by comment votes tallied by Local Editor.

A gift card for a weekend stay at the Morris Animal Inn will be given to the winner of the regional contest, made up of the winners of 10 site contests.

Ok mr bones, #2,stole my heart an gets my vote hands down! Don't tell my dog!seriously so many dogs look so spoiled and loved that I proud to be a part of such a dog loving community! They are all amazing dogs.... Just love the pose on the hay roll and the seriousness on some of these working canines who are all dog , opposed to the " all fluff" ones we treat like stuffed animals....but are ohh sooo cute!

#2-Charlie Bones!!! He is GORGEOUS!! and went through hell and bounced back..what a trooper. Despite all that he went through, he is still a wonderful dog!! Just look at his beautiful face! I love him!

voting for #2 ...Charlie Bones is a real miracle. when he was rescued by Eleventh Hour they were told that he was probably a hospice situation with only months to live. He has beaten all the odds and made a full recovery and is loving life and brings joy to whoever meets him

This dog was so infested with heart worms that we surely thought he would not make it. I think Charlie made it through the treatments and surgery because he knew he was loved by his family in his NEW JERSEY home. Remarkable recovery, love and committment!

Almost any dog looks cute in a costume.... That photo should be disregarded,besides the contest isn't for "cutest".....can't deny the dogs cute, but should be about being amazing too because they all look adorable dressed up( by the way I voted for 2, not even my own adorable dog)

It's obvious that you've never met Wendel. He is an AMAZING dog! His owner found him and his brother when they were just babies near the trash after someone discarded them both and left them to die. After such a harsh beginning, it's incredible to see how far he has come. He is the most lovable dog you'd ever want to meet. He's affectionate & sweet and absolutely amazing with children. My girls can pick him up and carry him around all day and he's so good with them. Believe me, there's much more to this dog than just looking cute in a Halloween costume. He warms my heart every time I see him and always makes me smile. He is definitely deserving of winning this contest.
