For students at Flocktown-Kossmann school, kindness counts.

That’s the motto behind the newly created Community Kindness Club at the elementary school, where students spend time each month focusing on spreading good deeds around the community.

More than 20 students attended the inaugural meeting on Oct. 18, where the group wrapped pajamas that had been collected during a school-wide initiative held the previous week.

The group was created by Michelle Lis, who has organized the Parent-Teacher Association’s Community Outreach Committee for several years and wanted to find a way for Flocktown-Kossmann students to be part of the efforts.

Through the creation of the club, the students have found a venue where they can work together to make a positive impact on their community.

All Flocktown-Kossmann students in second to fifth grades, parents and staff are invited to attend the next meeting of the Community Kindness Club at Flocktown School on Thursday, Nov. 29.
