Long Valley's caped crusading canine Wendel outlasted stiff competition to advance to the regional round of the Top Dog contest, sponsored by the Morris Animal Inn.

Wendel the wonder dog moves on with 42 votes, enough to distance himself from the field of worthy competitors.

Keep an eye out for the regional voting article so you can cast your vote for the grand prize. Voting for the grand prize will last until next Friday at noon. That winner will be awarded the $250 gift certificate to the animal inn.

And, of course, bragging rights to the title of Top Dog. So make sure you represent and vote for Long Valley's contestant!
