We should increase school secerity without more guns or guards.

We should advance adult literacy.

Reduce property taxes (so that I can be able to sell my house and get out of here! The property taxes here are insanely and unjustifiably high, especially considering the minimal town-provided services we receive.)

only ONE resolution ? Has to be, CLOSE an under utilized school and SAVE MONEY, and then LOWER TAXES ! Get rid of that BOGUS, educator top-heavy ''schools utilization'' committee too. Other than closing a school, if that does not happen, we should bag JCPL for ANY other source.

Lower property taxes. And the only likely way for that to happen is to close the oldest school or, better yet, enter into a long term lease of the facility to a private operating entity and generate some revenue from the deal. Cutting back on school overhead administration will be a bonus, but that could happen with or without a sale.

Require home owners to remove snow from sidewalks within 24 hours of a snow storm ending

Bring back a venue like Rosie's Cafe in the center of Long Valley and attract businesses and activities that cater to a more artistic and intellectual crowd. Would be great to have a center for yoga, meditation, creative visualization, classes in world religions and spirituality. The "downtown" area could have cool shops and outdoor cafes but not just full of 'bric-a-brac' -- more like the left bank of Paris. Would also be great to have horse drawn carriage rides through the downtown area at certain times of the year as well as outdoor music and dance events.

The problem is that we don't have any artistic intellectuals in LV. we have corporate stiffs who pack the Dunkin Donuts on the way into the office. All those quaint, trendy shops that have graced the village area have failed, failed, failed.

Lease out the unneeded school and make revenue.

CONNECT terminating sidewalks on flocktown and naughright so people can venture safely from one neighborhood to the other. Less cars, beneficial to health, increases sense of community.

Bring back schooley's mountain lake George swim club! Utilize clubhouse as community center. Consolidate various services with neighboring towns. Lower taxes.

Lower the speed limit on Pleasant Grove Road. 45 mph is dangerous.

Here are my thoughts as a concerned citizen of the area for many years
1.)Create a residency requirment for all Washington Township Police. Many towns in Nj have residency requirements and it increases professionalism within the force and creates a beneficial bond between citizens and the police.
2.) Hobby shop in the center of town, we are not encouraging our youth to have hobbies, therefore they turn to drugs and bad behavior.
3) Have a policeman patrol the center of town on foot. Uses less gas, and forms good relationships with area businesses and owners.
4.) Sell the police station, it isnt needed for the few police we have. The cost of heating, cooling and maintanence is too high.
5.) Make the police station a seniors center
6.) Stop dressing up the Spartan Mart as a restaurant. Its a two bay repair shop, I dont want to eat in a gas station. Stop trying to be something that you arent. A good mechanic should own the property and repair vehicles there. Repair shops and antique stores are the only businesses that can survive in the center of town. With no safety inspections in NJ, we need good technicians to inspect and repair our vehicles to keep us safe, our families safe and everyone else on the road safe. Keep you're cars safe folks!

Close a school and lower our taxes.

OK, the lake is polluted. So, a pool for the town. We built a dog park. How about a community pool to bring out town together?
