What Should Go Here: Daycare Center

The former child care business space is being split up and leased in parcels.

Sitting between Long Valley Eye Care and the Valley Cleaners in the Valley Village Center is a vacant, nearly 3,000 square-foot business space.

That space formerly housed a daycare center that went out of business in 2010. Now, according to the property managers, about 1,100 square-feet of that space is being leased for Edward Jones offices.

The remaining 2,000 or so square-feet is still available, however, and Long Valley Patch wants to know what readers think should go there.

Consider location–the space is flanked by the eye care center, cleaners, Pinky Nail Salon, and Z.S. Fitness. What do you think would be a nice complement to those businesses?

Something retail based? Service oriented? Looking for a new food shop to try out?

Let us know in the comments and, as always, thanks for your participation.

Hey Leah,
Thanks for the comment.
In all the weeks of doing the "What Should Go Here" column, I'm pretty sure that's the first time an art gallery was proposed.
Way to think outside the box!

@CV - hahhaha - I wouldn't say I've had enough of them, because I'd love to see both, but it's great to hear a completely different suggestion.
I am, however, fully expecting someone to say we can put a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods in there :)

The folks at Valley Music Center www.valleymusiccenter.com would like to see a fun, family style restaurant go in. Something a little more "home style" then what we currently have offered here in Long Valley. A Diner, like Marilyn's in Chester, would be great, but open through dinner time.

Please stop with this "what should go here" dribble. You get the same answers over and over again. What's the point

with all the empty locations in town, perhaps an unemployment agency! or a therapist for folks who can't survive and make a living in Long Valley

With each passing week, I grow more convinced that “What Should Go Here” is merely the documentation of an economy in inexorable decline.

I think one thing it points out is that we really didn't need that new mall built ten years ago.

How about a competent, organized optometrist?

I can't see an optometrist doing well there.

What about an all natural health food shop that can have local fruits and veggies as well? Something similar to the Ramsey Market that is on Route 17. Or a good sushi restaurant.

I’m going to reiterate my wish for a plastic-model-radio-controlled-G-O-HO-N-gauge-train-wood-metal-X-Acto-knife-slot-car- hobby shop.

Long Valley needs a small grocery or; better yet, a bakery.
