The Patch Editor closed an article while I was typing a reply to a question about damage assessments made before and during Sandy. (How rude Jason! You know I am a two finger typist and never answer with one sentence when 15 sentences will do.) In any event, responding to HOOKERMAN, I expect that the Township Committee will obviously take citizen input on the storm at Monday Nov. 19th Public meeting. I will also suggest to the Mayor that he schedule a separate meeting, possibly with some of our Legislators present, to discuss how to bring effective pressure on the BPU, Legislature and Governor to force First Energy/JCP&L to address the basic infrastructure inadequecies of our existing power grid. I DO NOT THINK ANOTHER JCP&L DOG & PONY ACT WOULD BE OF ANY VALUE.

To CHRISTINE (?) Duke Energy conducted their own damage assessment, with trained survey crews who give their reports to Professional Engineers who are part of the Duke Disaster Recovery Team on site. I don't know who provided the original assessments. Even Duke's evaluations sometimes underestimated the complexity of some of the restoration situations.
