Be a Locavore This Thanksgiving Season

After Superstorm Sandy there is no doubt everyone in our area has been affected. Now more than ever is a time for us to band together as a community and support each other.  Although most of us are still in a fog after the Hurricane (at least I am!) it's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving, which is just a week away.

One great way to help our community rebuild is to source your Thanksgiving meal locally, to support local businesses. I've compiled a quick list of places you can shop for common Thanksgiving Day needs:

  • Ort Farms-- We have freshly picked produce, home baked pies, local apple cider and more!
  • Mini Mac Farms and Ashley Farms both offer local turkeys--we purchase our turkeys to feed about 50 members of the Ort Family from Ashley Farms and the quality cannot be beat! Great tasting turkey
  • Long Valley Green Market--there are several food vendors that have something unique to offer, all locally sourced.
--Silver Birch soups and ready to go meals
--Homemade pasta and delicious cheeses from Fontanarosa's
--Organic Coffee from Black River Roasters (coffee for dessert)
--Lemon and Blue Cupcakes make a great dessert.
--Teas and spices from Grandma's Herbals

If I've left any local vendors out please post via comment section!!

Well said Nicole, there has been way too much mud slinging on this site...what we need to do is support each other. Happy Thanksgiving!

TheCoach Factory Online cease-fire also called on the Palestinian factions in Gaza to stop allHermes Belts hostilities against Israel,Coach Factory Online including rocket attacksCoach Outlet Online and attacks along the border.
