“The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made.” -Anonymous
This is the quote that opened my first blog post on the Patch. When I wrote it then, the future was senior year. As I write it now, the future is so much more. The future is the world, anything I want it to be. I have officially graduated West Morris Central High School and am moving forward to college, where I will begin a new chapter of my life.
I will be attending Bloomsburg University studying Mass Communications and Journalism. Between blogging on the Patch every week and working on the school newspaper this year, I have discovered my love for journalism and the world of news and press. I am excited to continue my journey through the journalism world at Bloomsburg, where they have a great Mass Communications program.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Patch for allowing me to blog every week about school and community happenings. Without this experience, I may not have the same dreams as I do now.
My four years at West Morris High School have been priceless and while it is sad to leave, I will take the memories with me everywhere I go and will use everything I have learned as I continue on. Through everything I have accomplished these four years I have truly learned the most valuable lesson in my opinion: always believe in yourself. I have learned that if I believe in myself and do my best I can accomplish anything and I will keep this lesson with me in all that I do. In the words of Cynthia Kersey, “Believe in yourself and there will come a day when others have no choice but to believe with you”.
Thank you again to The Long Valley Patch for this opportunity and I hope this will not be the last time you hear my name.
