Toddler Responsive, Breathing on His Own After Fall From Window

Two websites created to help bring in support, aid for Jack Gumersell's recovery.

Jack Gumersell, the 2-year-old Long Valley resident who has been in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Morristown Memorial Hospital since Wednesday, March 30 after falling from a two-story window, was scheduled for extubation from a ventilator Friday, April 8, according to his family.

As of 2:30 p.m., Jack was responsive, giving the nurse a high-five with each hand, according to Jack's mom, Adrienne Gumersell. The breathing tube has been removed, and Jack is following instructions.
