Girl Scouts Prepare, Host Twp. Memorial Day Ceremony

Troop completes journey to Bronze award.

Members of Girl Scout Troop 94097 may be young, and they may be small, but they were integral part of this year’s Washington Township Memorial Day Ceremony.

As part of their journey to accomplish a Bronze award, the members collected more than 15 hours in helping to prepare for and host the event, which was held at Rock Spring Park on Saturday, May 23.

The girls made patriotic “swaps,” or pins, and bracelets to hand out to everyone who attended. Troop members also made delicious treats for guests to enjoy and helped decorate the park and senior center prior to the event.

As hosts, troop members greeted guests, handed out the swaps and programs, and had the honor of walking in the procession for the event along with many Washington Township veterans, active soldiers, and keynote speaker CPT. Anthony F. Roberts.

Troop members include Grace Finlay, Maeve Colligan, Carolina Booth, Liya Barski, Stephanie Bruin, Audra Willsey, Noelle Deehan and Tori Murray.
