Long Valley's Digital Neighborhood Turns 3

It's been 36 months since Long Valley Patch entered the Internet and turned Washington Twp. an online gathering place.

Three years may not sound like much, but for us, it’s an awesome milestone.

Three years ago this week we launched Long Valley Patch. For those who don’t know, one year in the news industry is like 10 anywhere else. We celebrate birthdays with the same frequency as dogs.

Old, curmudgeonly dogs.

But enough about us. This is – always has been and always will be – about you.

Patch, as a whole, relies on its residents and readers to work alongside this hyper-local news source to provide the best coverage possible.

And in Washington Township, that partnership has been nothing less than extraordinary.

We’ve covered just about everything – arts, sports, government, police, schools – and you’ve responded to all of it. You’ve helped us learn more about this community and its amazing neighbors, and more importantly, you’ve supported us every step of the way.

As the launching editor of this site three years ago, I had no idea where this thing was headed. I had no idea what the first year would bring, or the second, or even the third.

What it has brought is a terrific sense of community in this digital age, and I can genuinely say I’m incredibly proud to be part of that process.

So, as we venture into year four, please help us continue to bring the best news the community deserves to you and your neighbors, and as always, we’ll be here to listen and start the conversation.

Thank you, readers, for your support and loyalty.

Now let’s get back to work!
