Multimedia: Wehrli Road Repair Project Underway

First of three roadways to be fixed with township funding.

The milling and paving work on Wehrli Road began on Wednesday, June 29, and is expected to be completed on Tuesday, July 5, according to Tilcon workers at the work site.

Wehrli Road, between West Springtown Road and residence number 60, was on the ‘A’ list of roads to be repaired in 2011 when the to fund the project earlier this year. Other roads being repaired under the bonded monies are portions of

Tilcon workers milled–or removed existing asphalt–on Wehrli Road six inches deep. From there, the portion of roadway will be filled with four inches of a gravel mixture, and topped with two inches of asphalt pavement.

Once the Wehrli Road project is done, Tilcon will complete the Flocktown Road project, and then Parker Road. Currently Wehrli Road is only open to residential traffic. There is a Washington Township Police Officer stationed at the each end of the roadway.
