Residents on Schooley’s Mountain have started banding together through social media platforms to help a neighbor in need.

Pumpkin, a family cat who lives near Cataract Park on the northern end of Schooley’s Mountain Road, has gone missing, and the owners are hoping to get him back soon.

The post has made its rounds on Facebook groups such as Washington Twsp NJ (Long Valley) Community Bulletin Board and LV Pets, and neighbors are giving tips on how to corral the cat with familiar scents and treats.

The orange feline has a black collar and yellow tag and left his home in the middle of the night between Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30. As of 2 p.m. Monday, he was still unaccounted for.

Anyone who has seen Pumpkin or knows of his whereabouts can call 201-400-6554.
