Second Annual Columbia Trail Tromp Coming Up

Benefit will raise funds for cancer research.

The 2nd Annual Columbia Trail Tromp will run through Long Valley on Sunday, Aug. 28 to benefit cancer research. The following information is from a press release provided by the Long Valley Village Organization.

Join us for the 2nd Annual Columbia Trail Tromp – a Memorial for Bill Harrington Sr. - on Sunday, August 28, 2011. Our goal is to help Stomp out Cancer by raising money for The Advanced Research Foundation (www.myarf.org).

This rain or shine event will start at Somerset Hills Bank in Long Valley. Parking is available at Toll Brother’s Regency on Fairview Avenue in Long Valley. The walk will go through Califon and finish in High Bridge before heading back to Long Valley for a total distance of 24 miles. A shuttle bus from Califon and High Bridge is available if necessary.

The Mill Pond River Walk – for those who wish to participate in the Columbia Trail Tromp, but prefer a shorter stroll. A wonderful way to participate and enjoy the beauty of two Nature Trails, Mill Pond Trail and Frying Pan Tree Trail…this option is provided by the Washington Township Land Trust. 

Pre-registration to Bike, Walk, Run or stroll is required at www.lvva.org. The donation is $20 per person or $50 per family (up to 4 participants) seniors $10 per person. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and “goody bag” on the day of the event. More detailed information is also available at lvva.org and on Facebook.

This year come support Elizabeth Worth’s Gold Award by utilizing the kid’s park complimentary child care service. There is more information posted on the lvva.org website.
