Toddler Who Fell From Window OK'd to Leave Hospital, Return Home

Gumersell family to be fully reunited on Thursday.

Less than one month after 2-year-old Jack Gumersell fell from a second floor window in his Long Valley residence, requiring emergency brain surgery, the toddler has been cleared to leave the Children's Special Hospital and return home, according Jack's mom, Adrienne.

Gumersell's journey began at Morristown Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 30 after being flown there from Long Valley after the fall. He spent more than a week in a medically-induced coma, and required breathing assistance and a feeding tube.

Doctors later cleared Gumersell to begin physical and occupational therapy at the Children's Special Hospital, where he has been since mid-April. He has now been approved to leave the hospital and go home on Thursday, April 28.
