Summer Reading Club Finale

Reading Finale on Saturday,August 13, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The raindate will be Sunday, August
The Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley,

The Finale will feature one ofthe last performances by the family ensemble, Dugan’s Holligans

Dugan Hooligans is a Celtic eclectic ensemble is led by 2 award-winning teenagers playing mainly Irish/Scottish folk, blending into bluegrass, Canadian, Eastern European, and
even klezmer in exciting, technically mind-blowing and entirely disarming fashion. Dugan’s Hooligans is a family
ensemble showcasing two teenagers: Connor, 19, and Sharlys, 17. Connor is a two-time North Atlantic Irish fiddle champion and currently holds championship titles in Bluegrass and Old Time. He is a violin performance major at Montclair State University and has played with the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, the New Philharmonic of NJ, the Livingston Symphony, and the NJ Concert Opera
Orchestra.

Sharlys is a three-time Irish harp champion. She plays the penny whistle, dances, and sings in English,Gaelic, and French. She has also played as a guest artist with the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey.

Nancy, their mom, plays the harp and keyboards, and George, their dad, is the percussionist/bodhran player.

Connor's off to Berklee College of Music in Boston in
September and Sharlys is finishing one more year of high school, then it's off to college for her.

The group will start performing at 2 p.m. Please register
for the concert @wtpl.org or 908-876-3596.

The Finale will also have games and a Moonwalk s for the
younger set starting at 1 p.m. and ending around 2 p.m. in time for the
concert.

From 2:30 to 3:30, young people can get their caricature
drawn by artist Gina Minichino!

SPACE IS LIMITED so sign up early starting 8/6 for grades
6-12 only and 8/10 for other ages.

Finally, the Hotbox Truck, a local mobile gourmet, will be
onsite with food available to  purchase.
