Fireworks Festival Moved to Sunday
Weather causes change in plans for community event.
The last day of summer brought fog, cool temperatures and rain Saturday night.
It just so happened to be the same Saturday night that was slotted to host the Washington Township 275th Anniversary Fireworks Festival and Parade.
Due to the inclement conditions, the Washington Township Community Events Organization moved the festival portion of the festivities – including the fireworks display – to Sunday, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m. at the Long Valley Middle School. The fireworks will begin at approximately 8 p.m. Sunday night, WTCEO Vice President Jenn Drake said.
