Back to School: Bitter or Sweet?

Area schools hit the books Monday, bringing a range of emotions for all involved.

Office supply store Staples set the bar pretty high a few years back, when one summer it aired a commercial with a parent dancing through its aisles to the tune of Andy Williams' holiday classic "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

For so many parents the back to school time is one of great happiness. The kids are done ripping the house apart from top to bottom and tracking pool water through the carpeted rooms. These parents welcome the sweetness that is September.

And then you have the other side. The parents who have been crying for more than a week. The ones who will pace their children's bedrooms for hours on end while the students are just down the road in a classroom. The parents who find this time to be bitter.

So we want to know, which parent are you? Do you find back to school to be a bitter time or a sweet one?
