Fleming Slays State Place Winner, Windt and McGuire Fell Giants

(Dec. 19, 2012, Chester, NJ)  Undefeated Wolfpack senior Cory Fleming (120) slayed Randolph High School’s top wrester AJ Vindici 15-8 to lead West Morris Central to a 47-24 victory Wednesday night in front of a raucous home crowd. Vindici was undefeated this year, and 51-10 last year, placing in States.

Jesse Windt (220) and Zach McGuire (HWT) -- both wrestling up a weight class -- brought the crowd to its feet with inspiring pins against the Rams’ giants.

Along with Fleming, sophomores Mike Oros (126) and Kevin Sears (152) put the final daggers into the Rams’ morale. Together, they prevented all three of Randolph’s winningest returning starters from pinning their Wolfpack opponents.  Oros and Sears hung tough against Matt Vozzo (28-12 last year) and Sean Rogers (25-7) respectively.

Windt and David Migliaccio (132) both stayed undefeated, pinning Randolph’s other two returning starters in thrilling fashion – with “Migs” all but assuring the team’s victory by fall in the last seconds of the 2nd period against Ram Jake Federico, who started the year 4-2.

Junior John Schade (113) and seniors John Sickles (170) and Adam Kratch (182) each contributed six points to the ‘pack with pins.  Seniors Nick Matthews (138) and Brandon Carcuffe (145, by tech fall) added points to the Wolfpack win column, both staying undefeated in early going for the season.

Junior Aldo Cammalleri (195), sophomore Ben Piraneo (106) and freshman Ben Yaskulka (160), also started for the winning Wolfpack team. You can see the entire scorcard here.

Earlier, Yaskulka went 2-0 with the JV team at his natural 152. Fellow freshman Caleb Isemann (132) and junior Mike O’Rourke also nabbed impressive wins for the junior squad.
