A manhunt for a suicidal individual ended peacefully after Washington Township Police officers successfully negotiated with the man in a cornfield, police said.

A pedestrian walking on Mountain Avenue in Hackettstown was struck and killed by a vehicle, which left the scene and was yet to be found, Hackettstown Police Det. Darren Tynan said.
