The first week of April seemed to be warmer than all of March! We’re loving the higher temperatures and lack of snow and moving headstrong into spring. It was a big week of news, too, so let’s take a look at what went down recently.

‘Time to Take Action’ Committee Candidate Says

43-year Washington Township resident Don Babb threw his hat into the political ring for the first time this week, filing to run for Township Committee. The 75-year-old is a former Department of Public Works employee and said he can’t make much change by sitting at a coffee shop and complaining.

Detour No More: Middle Valley Bridge Now Open

On Tuesday, April 2, nearly seven months after it was closed for replacement, the Middle Valley Road Bridge was in place and passable to motorists. An adjoining sidewalk is not yet complete and apparatus and debris removal is still necessary in the area. But, for now, a 10-mile detour is no longer needed for motorists.

UPS Ships Toys (With Love) to National Stage

Small businesses working together often make for great relationships, not only between the owners but with customers as well. The owners of Toys With Love and UPS in Chester worked together so well, they were chosen to be part of a national advertising campaign portraying the relationship.

The deadline to file for a spot on the June primary ballot was Monday, April 1, and of the two committeemen up for re-election, just one is seeking a second consecutive term. See which of the two incumbents will not be on the ballot.
