Celebrate Hanukkah, Deck Your House Tuesday

Municipal organizations hold final meetings of 2011.

As we come down the home stretch of 2011, many groups and organizations are holding their final meetings of the year. Check out some of those gatherings below, and other things you need to know about in town.

You Need to Visit the Vets: The American Veterans Association of Washington Township (AVAWT) will hold its final meeting of 2011 at the at 10 a.m. All area veterans or family members of veterans are able to join the group. Visit the meeting to find out more about this tremendous group of men and women.

You Need to Know About the Town’s Health: The Washington Township Board of Health will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the for its regular–and final–meeting of the year. The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend.

You Need to Know About Trees: The Washington Township Shade Tree Commission will also meet and hold its final gathering of 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building. Discussions to remedy the loss of many shade trees from various storms this year will be held. The public is welcomed to attend.

You Need to Deck the House: And win $100,000 for your local school districts! Think you’ve got a pretty decked-out house, gleaming with all the best holiday lights and ornaments? You Need to Celebrate Hanukkah: Head over to the from 10 to 11 a.m. and listen to Hanukkah story time, presented by Freda Shusterman of the Chabad Jewish Center. Crafts and other activities will be available as well. To find out more or to register, go here.
