Gov't Organizes, Adopt a Pet This Weekend

We’re heading into the first weekend of 2012, and there’s plenty to be aware of. Despite the chilly temperatures, you’ll want to get out of the house and check in to some (or all) of these events.

You Need to Organize: The Washington Township Committee will hold its . on Saturday at the . Emergency responders will be sworn into their positions, and committeeman-elect Tracy Tobin will take oath of office. The meeting schedule for the remainder of the year will also be created.

You Need to Show Your Dodgeball Skills: The annual dodgeball tournament to benefit Project Graduation will take place at 6 p.m. at the high school Friday. Registration is still available for players and teams, with a cost of $5 per person. .

You Need to Adopt a Pet: Jersey Pawz Pet Grooming and Paula’s Dog House in Hackettstown will hold a pet adoption day at 11 Riverside Plaza on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. Dogs and cats of all ages will be available.

You Need to Save the Planet: The Washington Township Recycling Department will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at 50 Rock Road. All residents are encouraged to use the facility for their recycling needs. Please keep bundles under 25 lbs. for safety of the personnel.
