As always, there’s plenty going on in town today, but we wanted to share with you how to best use Long Valley Patch. So, take a look.

You Need to Be Heard: Long Valley Patch offers a bevy of ways for you to have your voice heard. At the bottom of each article is the comments section where readers can weigh in on story topics. Also, on the homepage, is the activity stream on the right side. Have something to say or just want to ‘shout’ to your neighbors? Put it in there and be heard. Finally, any resident who wants to write about topics that affect them can apply to blog in our Local Voices section.

You Need to Get Social: Long Valley Patch is an interactive news site. But we’re not in a silo, either. We’ve got a Facebook page, which can be seen here (and you can ‘like’ us there), and we’re on Twitter as well, which can be seen here. So follow us to be up to date with all that’s going on.

You Need to Tip Us Off: Did you know there are ways to give Long Valley Patch news tips? Well, there are. If you go to the news tab at the top of the page, you’ll find a button that says, “Got a Hot Tip?” –that’s where you can tell us about some news you want to share. Also, at the bottom of each article is a ‘submit a tip’ button. Whenever you’ve got news, tell us about it!

You Need to Sign Up: Long Valley Patch offers daily, weekly, monthly and breaking news alerts with the click of a button. At the top of the page, simply click on the “Patch Newsletters” button and sign up for which–or all–of the alerts that will be sent directly to your inbox.
