Washington Township’s United States representative Leonard Lance came to Long Valley on Monday and conducted a town hall meeting Monday, speaking with about 50 area residents on federal spending, mental health funding and overseas jobs.

Central Now Accepting Mendham High Students

The West Morris Regional High School Board of Education approved a policy that will allow any student from Mendham or Chester to attend West Morris Central due to overpopulation at Mendham High School. There is a 100-student maximum transfer number in the policy.

Tax Hike in 4 of 5 Regional School Towns OK’d

The West Morris Regional Board of Education gave a final approval on Monday to adopt its 2013-14 budget, which comes with a 2-percent tax levy increase. In that increase, four of the five towns that send students to the two high schools will see an increase in their taxes, while Washington Township will not.
