Twp. Finds Issues in Senior Housing Complex

The architects and owners of Heath Village came before the Washington Township Committee and Planning Board in a joint session in June to ask for amendments in an already standing ordinance that would allow development on a piece of land between Schooley’s Mountain Road and Newburgh Road.

Stolen Safe Leads to Cocaine, Weapon Charges for Burglary Victim

After a two-week long investigation, Washington Township police found the man who broke into a Long Valley home and stole a safe. On top of making that arrest, police found inside the safe were illegal weapons and cocaine, which brought charges for the homeowner.

Officials Eager to Hit County With Local Issues

The Washington Township Committee reported Long Valley will host July’s Morris County Board of Freeholders meeting, and residents and officials alike would have the opportunity to bring their issues to the county governing body. The meeting will be held July 24.

‘Community of Learners’ Becomes Class of 2013

West Morris Central High School graduated another class of high-achieving teens who are off to college and the work force on June 25. The event was hot and humid, as it usually is, but proud families poured in with smiles and tears during the hours-long ceremony.

Soprano Was Wise Guy, Gandolfini ‘Nice Guy’

New Jersey native and lead actor of HBO’s The Sopranos, James Gandolfini, died of a heart attack while staying in Italy earlier this month. The Bergen County-born actor lived in Tewksbury Township for the past four years, and local businesses had nice things to say about humble resident.
