"[The DPW] has a full crew out right now, and will be working well into the night," said Short. "The roads are treacherous in many areas, and residents should stay indoors."

Short said if children are going outside, they should stay away from trees and only play in open fields, as the weight of the snow is bringing down branches all over town.

Town officials and members of the office of emergency management met Saturday morning to devise a plan that Short believes is working well as the day goes on.
