You Need to Catch the Bus: Because it’s the first day of the 2011-12 school year for all of Washington Township’s students. Just think, it’s only 180 (school days) until summer break! Oh, and parents, we know you’ll be taking an immense amount of photos for the ol’ scrapbook, so while you’re uploading them to your computer, shoot some of your favorites over to Long Valley Patch. You Need to Know About Zones: The Washington Township Zoning Board will meet at the municipal building at 7 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend and all are welcome.

You Need to Save the Planet: The Washington Township recycling center will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 50 Rock Road. Please keep bundles under 25 lbs. for the safety of the personnel.

You Need Some History: The Historic Preservation Commission will meet at the municipal building at 7:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.

You Need to Blog for Us: And we’ve got a theme, too. Are you an enthusiastic sports or club parent?
