Special BOE Meeting, Letters to Santa This Week

There’s no holiday this week, but now that Thanksgiving is behind us, everyone is in the holiday mindset. Don’t forget there’s plenty going on in town this week that you should know about, so let’s take a look.

You Need a Special Meeting: The West Morris Regional School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting Monday at 6 p.m. at the West Morris Central library to discuss changes to be made to the school calendar in an effort to bring back some of the days lost by the impact of Hurricane Sandy. You Need a Board Meeting: The Washington Township School District board of education will hold its regular meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Long Valley Middle School. Discussion about calendar changes will be held and an update on where the Community Advisory Committee stands will be given.

You Need to Help Neighbors: A Hackettstown family of five was displaced last week after a fire ripped through their apartment, leaving them homeless. The Hackettstown Police Benevolence Association is setting up a gift card donation drive. Find out more about how you can help these neighbors in need by reading this.

You Need to Write to Santa: The Washington Township Recreation Department has made arrangements for Santa to accept mail delivery to the North Pole. Youngsters can pen a letter to the big guy and drop them off at the recreation department at 50 Rock Road. Those same youngsters will receive a personalized reply from Santa. Find out more here.
