Sports, History and Concerts Fill Out Tuesday

Rain, rain, go away, come again… well, don’t come back, actually. It’s been a soggy week so far, but there’s still plenty going on in town today. Let’s take a look at what’s on tap.

You Need to Know About History: The American Veterans Association of Washington Township (AVAWT) will host a roundtable discussion at the Washington Township Library at 7 p.m. The session is free and open to the public. Editor’s Note: listening to these heroes is always a great event.

You Need to Get Screened: The Washington Township Health Department will sponsor a free blood pressure screening for all residents from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center at Rock Spring Park. No registration is required.

You Need to go to a Concert: The Long Valley Middle School band concert will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Middle School. If you want to see and hear the next generation of musicians, this is the place to be.

You Need to Support Your Teams: The West Morris Central spring sports teams have a full day of action. Here’s the schedule: Wolfpack golf team hosts Mendham High School with a tee time of 3 p.m.; Boys varsity tennis will host Somerville High School in the NJSIAA playoffs second round at 3 p.m.; Wolfpack varsity baseball heads to Seton Hall Prep at 4 p.m.; Varsity softball hosts Morristown-Beard at 4 p.m.; and both girls and boys track teams will compete in the Morris County Championships day one.
