Starting the Week Right

The year is winding down and so are some programs.

Who says there's nothing to do on a Monday? Not Long Valley Patch, that's for sure. We're getting closer and closer to the end of 2010, but there are plenty of important matters to take care of.

Without further adieu:

1.)  The Washington Township Planning Board will hold its final meeting of the year, and the public is encouraged to attend. The meeting is held at the and begins at 7:30 p.m.

2.)  Over at Mendham High School the West Morris Regional School District Board of Education will hold its final meeting of the year as well. Start time is 7 p.m. The board will also swear in its newest member, John Meyer, of Washington Township.

3.)  It's the final day to donate goods to the Giving Tree. The library is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. All donations benefit the Washington Township Food Pantry, and items requested include: warm hats, mittens, socks, scarves and canned goods.

4.)  It's also the final Monday to have 15 percent of your purchase price at Pronto Pizza Friends of the Washington Township Library. Whether you eat in, take out or have something delivered, a portion of your bill will go to the organization.

5.)  Don't forget to call and make a January for your soon-to-be kindergarten student. Call the school he or she will be attending next year and have your appointment set up to register for the 2010-11 school year.
