Tuesday Filled With Meetings in Long Valley

Organization gatherings for all walks of life.

Every once in a while Long Valley Patch’s 5 Things column takes a slightly different direction, and that’s what we’re going to do today. Let’s take the meeting route and see what groups in town are congregating and planning on discussing plans.

You Need to Meet Your Veterans: The regular monthly meeting of the American Veterans Association of Washington Township (AVAWT) will be held at the Senior Center at Rock Spring Park at 10 a.m. If you or someone you know is a veteran looking to join, feel free to attend.

You Need to Discuss a Good Read: The Washington Township Library Morning Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. to discuss the book of the month. All residents are welcomed to join and take part. For more information, visit wtpl.org.

You Need to Keep Those Trees Healthy: The Shade Tree Commission Meeting will meet to discuss general topics and ways to preserve the town’s arbor at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building. All are encouraged to attend.

You Need to Greet Your New Neighbors: The Newcomers and Friends Club of Washington Township will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Schooley’s Mountain Firehouse. The monthly meetings are designed to help new town residents meet with existing ones and learn about the community’s great events.

You Need to Read With Kids: It’s toddler time at 10 and 11 a.m. for kids at the Washington Township Library. No registration is required to take part. Both sessions will be in the meeting room.
