Memorial Day weekend stands like a triathlon finish line at the end of this week, so let’s get through this together, shall we?

We’re going to switch gears a bit this week and let our readers in on a little secret: the following is a description of what we’re working on this week, and what kind of stories you can expect from us in the next few days.

Monday’s slate of news includes two pieces of note, the first of which was written by two students at West Morris Central High School. Courtney Chase and Pat Barron, staff members of The Paw, gave Long Valley Patch a student’s take on the moving and impactful presentation by Chris Herren about drug addiction. As usual, we introduce our question of the week on Mondays. This week we’re asking how you would feel if the township had a mediation committee to help neighbors settle disputes amongst themselves. Weigh in on the topic here.

Throughout the week, you can expect a story on how much the Washington Township Committee decided to give to the Community Events Organization to help with this year’s costs for the annual Fireworks Festival.
