Week Ahead: Days Off, Events On in LV

Spring sports in full effect this week.

The first week of April is upon us, and there’s an incredible amount to take note of. Let’s take a look, shall we?

You Need to Know There’s No School: West Morris Regional and Washington Township School Districts are both off this week for spring vacation. will have an additional day off, Monday, April 9, for unused snow days. Morning traffic will be lighter but lines for pizza may be longer.

You Need to Know About the Green Market: It’s back! The biggest shopping success in Washington Township of 2011 is starting the season off this Thursday at 20 Schooley’s Mountain Road from 3 to 7 p.m. Local artisans will have their wares available and entertainment will be provided.

You Need to Get in the Game: It’s a full week of competition for West Morris Central’s spring sports teams. Big games include: boys’ varsity baseball hosting Delbarton on Wednesday at 4 p.m.; boys’ lacrosse hosting Caldwell on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.; girls’ softball heading to Parsippany Hills on Monday at 4 p.m.; and girls’ lacrosse hosting Glen Ridge at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. You Need to Rally for a Neighbor: The Rally in the Valley for Glenn Lightner will take place on Saturday, April 28, . Tickets are pre-sale only and cost $50.

You Need to Know About Changed Hours: The Washington Township will have late hours–open to 7 p.m.–on Monday, but will close at 12:30 p.m. Thursday and be unavailable until Monday, April 9. The will also be closed on April 6 in observance of Good Friday.
