Week in Review: Big Moves By School Boards

Washington Township has finally begun to see the winter temperatures roll in, and 2011 is merely a memory. The week is now behind us, but not before there was plenty of news to report on.

The West Morris Regional Board of Education was presented with a motion by representative Marcia Asdal to accept the resolution put forth by the borough of Chester, requesting the body not go forward with a search for superintendent until after the April election.

On Tuesday night, the Washington Township Schools Board of Education addressed the projected drop in enrollment facing the township over the next five years, and requested the community support them in any decision-making process. The board said any discussion or decisions made will be held publicly. .

She may go down as the best basketball player in the history of West Morris Central, and breaking the all-time points record is a great start. Shayna Ericksen, the Lady Highlanders senior captain, was named Athlete of the Week after notching her name atop the history books. .
