Week in Review: History, Future Meet in LV

Major intersection to become less congested.

It was a frigid week in Washington Township, but there was a lot of great goings on that took place and news to report on. As always, to see a full plate of news from the past seven days, go here.

The Washington Township Committee decided it would move forward with altering the traffic light at the intersection of Bartley and Naughright Roads to allow for more vehicles to flow heading south on Naughright toward Coleman Road and West Morris Central High School. During school days, the intersection is often backed up all the way to Fairview Avenue.

Long Valley Patch had the opportunity to speak with Martha Symon, daughter of Harry Robinson, the man who sculpted Bert the Liberty Eagle at the intersection of Flocktown and Schooley’s Mountain Roads. Sixth grade students at the are fully entrenched in making a difference this year, and are taking part in social studies teacher Matt Marciano’s Change the World project. The work requires students to come up with a  problem they see, figure out a solution, and work toward that solution to better the world in some way.
