Week in Review: Money, Championships in LV

New salon in town has an alter ego.

It was a highly anticipated week in Washington Township with budget meetings and school impact being addressed, and, as usual, we were there to chronicle it.

Washington Township received its share of state aid this week, which came in at the same amount as last year–. The township committee has discussed purchasing a , ambulance, and . They’ll finalize the budget on Monday, Feb. 27.

It was a busy week for the West Morris Regional High School district, as it completed the hiring process of a superintendent on Wednesday night. Go here . On Thursday, as members of the state and county departments of education presented facts and figures on what it would take to have a structural–and financial–change in the district.

Both school districts serving Washington Township received great news Thursday when state financial aid figures were announced. The K-8 district received a 5.6-percent increase over last year, while the regional district received a 7.7-percent increase over 2011-12. .

The Wolfpack Ice Hockey team took its improbable run through the Halverson Cup playoffs all the way to the championship game where it faced off against Morristown Thursday night. .
