Week in Review: Pumpkins, Pantries & Politics

Township decides how to use $10K grant.

The final full week of October is behind us, which means we embark on November and spiral into the cold, darker months of late fall and winter. And it’s OK to enjoy that, you know, if warmth and sunshine aren’t on your favorites list.

Washington Township was recently granted $10,000 from Sustainable Jersey to use toward environmental preservation, and the governing body has chosen to do just that. The town will use the grant to expand its monitoring of conservation easements, in which there are more than 500 in the municipality.

Last weekend, Long Valley Presbyterian Church played host to the second annual Stuff the Bus fundraiser to benefit the Washington Township Food Pantry.
